How we teach through play at Big Crayon.
At Big Crayon we follow a play-based, child-led approach. Our educators watch what each child is curious about, then build the week around it, whether that is dinosaurs, diggers or the colour purple.
Rooms are set up in open-ended “provocations”: a table of leaves and magnifying glasses, a tray of paint and sponges, a corner of cardboard tubes. Children choose, explore and explain, and educators document the learning in photos and notes families can read at pick-up.
The result is confident children who ask big questions, share their ideas and are ready for kindergarten.
